French Subject Teacher - Part Time

POSITION DETAILS

Rowan Tree Children’s School seeks a creative and enthusiastic French language teacher for elementary grades 1 to 8. This is a part-time hourly position. Base hourly rate of $35 per hour with increases for eligible education and experience. 

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Native or near-native speaker of the French language an asset, French Immersion certificate and/or French language teaching qualifications and/or B1 or B2 CEFR level in French required

  • French language teaching experience is an asset

  • Waldorf Teacher Certificate and/or Bachelor of Education (Ontario)

  • Waldorf training or experience a plus

  • Teaching experience in either an outdoor education environment or school setting

  • Excited to work with the growing child and engage with students

  • Strong classroom management skills

  • First Aid and CPR certification is up-to-date or willing to obtain

  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check

  • Be flexible and adaptable to new situations

  • Ability to use good judgment, self management and effective problem-solving skills 

  • Bringing inspired, dynamic French language and culture teaching in a manner that reflects Waldorf education of engaging head, hands and heart

  • Working collaboratively with parents and colleagues

  • A deep passion and interest for the world around them

Location: 1545 Monaghan Rd at the Mount Community Centre in Peterborough which is the home of Rowan Tree Children’s School

Occasional Teachers

POSITION DETAILS

This position is on an “On Call” basis, where the substitute is needed sometimes on very short notice.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Waldorf Teacher Certificate and/or Bachelor of Education (Ontario) is an asset

  • Teaching experience in either an outdoor education environment or school setting

  • First Aid and CPR certification is up-to-date or willing to obtain

  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check

  • Be flexible and adaptable to new situations

  • Ability to use good judgment, self management and effective problem-solving skills
